After a cold pre-dawn walk to Llyn Llydaw, I positioned myself at a small frozen pool I found when scouting the area the afternoon before. Then it was a simple case of setting up and waiting for the light. To be honest, the mass of cloud to the east meant I wasn’t really expecting anything, but you sometimes have to hope; and just for a few minutes, the first light of the day broke through the clouds and illuminated the peaks.Location: Llyn Llydaw, Snowdonia, North Wales Catalogue Reference: A-1712-0118 Copyright © 2017 Phil Corley
It had been a very wet weekend, and was very, very windy. Shortly before this shot my tripod had been blown off the ledge I was set-up on, and fell about 40 feet - luckily the camera was not on it! After a climb down to fetch it, it was fine - just the head was very muddy as it had a soft landing in a bog! The sunset was just a faint glimmer but the approaching thunderstorms of Friday night did wonderful things to the clouds as showers passed over the sea out towards the horizon. For a cloudy evening with the threat of heavy rain, it was most enjoyable.Location: Dinas Dinlle, Gwynedd Catalogue Reference: 7-1507-1224 Copyright © 2015 Phil Corley
As the clouds lift after a day of heavy rain the flank of Snowdon is revealed along with the lines of stone walls winding their way towards the summit currently hidden by heavy cloud. You do have to ask, who builds those walls?Location: Snowdonia, Gwynedd Catalogue Reference: 7-1410-0264 Copyright © 2014 Phil Corley
After a day of heavy rains, the clouds were rolling slowing over Mount Snowdon with the odd splashes of light hitting the clouds and occasionally the flanks of Snowdon; all reflected in the mirror waters of Llyn DywarchenLocation: Llyn Dywarchen, Snowdonia, North Wales Catalogue Reference: 6-1407-7716 Copyright © 2014 Phil Corley
